The Challenge

One medical society’s annual members’ meeting could not be held in person due to COVID, so a virtual meeting was planned instead. Unfortunately, while the meeting content was informative and insightful, attendance was low and members had a hard time connecting with the information through an online setting. Without in-person meetings on the near-term horizon, the society needed to find new ways to deliver value to their members and capture much-needed operational revenue.

The Strategy

The Society’s Executive Director (ED) recognized that understanding specialty compensation and productivity data and defining professional value were persistent challenges to members. After some diligence, the ED learned that the issue stemmed from limited access to expensive, and often inaccurate, sources of productivity and compensation information.

This issue had grown more complex as many of the Society’s specialists were becoming employed and COVID was severely impacting almost everyone’s revenue and practice operations.
